Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Kamala Pant has issued a stern warning to the government, stating that the votes received in elections should not be considered the sole basis for political legitimacy and everything else, and that arrogance should not be displayed based on winning once. Speaking for a special time in the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, she mentioned that the ruling parties should not become irresponsible by boasting about public mandate.
MP Pant strongly criticized the controversial statement made by Prime Minister Balen Shah on the Nepal-India border issue, emphasizing that the Foreign Minister's clarification alone is not sufficient on this sensitive issue, and the Prime Minister himself should make his stance public. She urged the ruling party, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), to move forward on the basis of mutual cooperation, national unity, and consensus to lead the parliament and the country in the right direction. Clarifying that the opposition is always ready to fulfill its constitutional and political responsibilities in the National Assembly, she said that the government must be fully accountable to the parliament.
