WHO Declares Uganda Ebola-Free, DRC Outbreak Intensifies

Kampala. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared Uganda Ebola-free. This declaration was made after completing 42 days without any new infections. However, the infection is still spreading rapidly in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The WHO announced the declaration of Uganda being Ebola-free alongside the Ugandan Ministry of Health in a joint press conference on Tuesday. Uganda had already declared the Ebola outbreak over in the country about a month ago based on its own analysis.
