Weather Forecast: Monsoon Influence Across Nepal with Potential for Heavy Rainfall

Kathmandu. Currently, the monsoon trough is influencing the entire country, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The monsoon low-pressure line is currently located slightly north of its average position in the west and around its average position in the east.

Due to this influence, the Himalayan and hilly regions are generally experiencing cloudy weather, while the Tarai regions have partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in one or two places in Madhesh Province.
