Government Criticized for Harassment of Business Community

Kathmandu. Businessmen are angry and scared, saying the government is continuously harassing and discouraging the private sector. They accuse the government of demoralizing businessmen by adopting terrorist tactics in the name of good governance and creating an investment environment.

Businessmen say the government shows a dual character, urging investment and assuring businessmen on one hand, while treating them like criminals on the other. They claim that the investment environment in the country is becoming unfavorable due to searches and harassment without following due process and without concrete basis.
