Consumer Rights Activist Highlights Persistent Gas Sector Issues Due to Lack of Clear Legal Framework

Kathmandu. Consumer rights activist Jayaprasad Poudel has stated that various types of complaints related to gas are received daily. He also said that problems are recurring due to the lack of clear legal provisions to make the gas sector organized.

Speaking at a meeting of the Industry, Commerce, and Consumer Welfare Committee under the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Poudel said that complaints such as gas shortages, cylinder explosions, and finding sludge inside cylinders are regularly received. "Complaints such as gas shortages, cylinder explosions, and finding sludge are received daily. Problems are always seen in the gas sector because there is no separate law related to it," he said.
