Sydney. A new study has shown that Australia's policy of legally banning social media use for children under 16 worldwide has not been effective as expected. According to a report released by Australia's Internet Safety Regulator eSafety, most children under 16 are still using Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and other social media platforms even after the ban came into effect a few months ago.
According to the statistics shown in the report, more than 8 out of 10 children under 16 are still active on at least one social media platform. The study concluded that there has been no significant decrease in social media use among children aged 10 to 15 after the ban. This clearly highlights the challenges in enforcing the law.
