Madhesh Province Ministry Drafts Procedures for 20% Salary Increment for Employees

Janakpurdham. Following Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle's announcement of a 20% salary increment for employees in the budget speech for the fiscal year 2083/084, the Ministry of Finance of Madhesh Province has begun drafting the necessary procedures. The government had proposed a 10% increase in basic salary for employees, with an additional 11% based on performance evaluation. However, the Province's Ministry of Finance is currently developing procedures to determine how the initial 10% will be disbursed and how the performance evaluation will be conducted.

The procedures are being drafted to stipulate that only those who score above 75% in their performance evaluation will be eligible for this benefit. Deputy Secretary of the Ministry, Jaykumar Raut, stated that the procedures, once drafted by the Ministry, will be passed by the Council of Ministers and published in the gazette before implementation. He added, 'After the procedures are approved by the government, the respective ministries will use these procedures to select employees eligible for the incentive allowance.'
