Vishnumaya Bishwakarma Becomes First Dalit Woman MP from Tehrathum

Vishnumaya Bishwakarma was once a teacher in a private school in Tehrathum. After working in the teaching profession for 6 years, she later fully entered the politics of CPN (UML). However, she never thought she would become a Member of Parliament.

Vishnumaya, who held the responsibility of Deputy Secretary of the All Nepal Women's Association District Committee after being a member of the UML Tehrathum District Committee, became a proportional Member of Parliament from the Dalit women's quota of the UML. She is a committed and dynamic woman in politics. In 2063 BS, she became a member of the Koshi Zonal Committee and a member of the Central Committee of the All Nepal Women's Association.
