Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated Across Nepal with Chariot Processions

Kathmandu. Chariot processions and rallies are being taken out in various parts of the country today to celebrate the birth of Krishna. The tradition of taking out chariot processions and rallies in Krishna temples across the country on the day of Bhadra Krishna Navami began with the belief that Lord Krishna was born to destroy the wicked and protect the virtuous.

On this occasion, a special chariot procession is scheduled to be taken out today from the premises of the Nepal International Krishna Consciousness Society (ISKCON) office located in Budhanilkantha in the northern part. On this occasion, various religious organizations in Kathmandu have also prepared to take out rallies and chariot processions with tableaux of Krishna today. Similarly, a chariot procession will also be taken out today from the Krishna temple area in Besigaun, Gokarneshwor-8, informed Ward Chairman Nandlal Shrestha. Thousands of people participate in the chariot procession.
