Province Government Reconstructs 82 Damaged Health Institutions and Schools Post-Earthquake

Surkhet. The central government showed no interest in the reconstruction of government structures damaged by the earthquake centered in Ramidanda, Jajarkot, in Kartik 2080. After a long time passed without any initiative from the center for reconstruction, the Karnali Province government adopted a policy to reconstruct damaged government health institutions and schools on its own. Accordingly, the 'Procedure for Reconstruction of Earthquake-Damaged Community Schools and Government Health Institutions (Operation and Management), 2081' has been formulated and implemented.

Based on this procedure, the Karnali Province government has completed the reconstruction of 82 damaged health institutions and community schools in Jajarkot, Rukum West, and Salyan. According to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, the reconstruction of 67 community schools and 15 health institutions has been completed.
