Two Workers Die in Landslide at Super Seti Hydropower Project Access Road Construction

Kaski. Two workers who were seriously injured in a landslide while excavating the access road of the under-construction Super Seti Hydropower Project in Sandal, Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality-1, Kaski, have died during treatment. The deceased are 26-year-old Ayush Rai, a resident of Pakhribas Municipality-8, Dhankuta, who was working at the project, and 27-year-old Kisan Rai from Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-1, Khotang. According to the Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Kaski, Birendra Kumar Paswan, both died during treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital. Bhakt Bahadur Magar, 32, from Ilam, was injured in the incident. Police said he is undergoing treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital and has a knee injury. The landslide suddenly occurred from above around 11:00 AM today while excavating the road for the access road construction of the hydropower project. Local residents and police immediately rescued the workers who fell in the landslide and took them to Manipal Teaching Hospital for treatment. The Super Seti Hydropower Project is a 24 MW capacity project under construction in Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality, Kaski.
