Kathmandu. The Customs Department has made arrangements to allow goods for which necessary documents have been issued for import through the Rasuwa Customs Office and are currently in transit to be imported through alternative customs points. The department took this decision after the Rasuwa customs point was affected by the flood that occurred on Wednesday.
Importers who wish to import through alternative customs points will have to contact their bank and change the customs point. Arrangements have been made to change the customs point mentioned in the payment method to the new customs point where import is desired, and goods can be declared and cleared from that location. This arrangement will also apply to imports made through payment methods such as letters of credit (LC), drafts, and TT. The department has clarified that no permission or recommendation from other bodies is required to change the customs point in this manner.
