Kathmandu Metropolitan City Unveils Policy and Program for Fiscal Year 2083/84

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has unveiled the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol presented the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year at the 19th session of the Municipal Assembly held at the National City Hall in Kathmandu on Sunday. The Metropolitan City has embraced the slogan 'Cultural City, Prosperous Metropolis' for the upcoming fiscal year and has put forward its future plans. While presenting the policy and program, Acting Mayor Dangol informed that the plan for the upcoming year has been formulated based on the historical significance, cultural heritage, and modern urban civilization of Kathmandu. This policy and program aims to address the changed circumstances and the best aspirations of the residents of Kathmandu. The Metropolitan City believes that it will greatly assist in building a unique, historical, cultural, tourist-friendly, and good-governed metropolis. Reviewing the policy, program, and budget approved by the 17th session of the current fiscal year 2082/83, multi-year programs that remain incomplete have been continued in the upcoming year. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has a long-term vision to transform Kathmandu into an inclusive, good-governed, technology-friendly, safe, clean, healthy, green, and innovative smart city. Along with this, sectoral policies and programs have been proposed with the objective of ensuring economic prosperity, social justice, improvement in the quality of service delivery, conservation of culture and heritage, and sustainable urban development. It is expected that this policy and program will be successful in achieving the expected goals of Kathmandu, the federal capital.
