Lumbini Province Assembly Concludes Discussion on Appropriation Bill for FY 2083/84

Butwal. The group discussion on the Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year 2083/84 was completed in the thirteenth meeting of the eighth session of the Lumbini Provincial Assembly held on Monday. Members of the Provincial Assembly focused their discussions on the budget and programs of four ministries under the bill concerning the appropriation and expenditure of funds from the Provincial Fund. The discussion covered the appropriation titles related to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Ministry of Urban Development and Water Supply, Ministry of Forests and Environment, and Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management, and Cooperatives. Provincial Assembly members presented their views on the budget's priorities and implementation based on their party representation. Provincial Assembly members including Bhojprasad Shrestha, Badshah Kurmi, Raju Prasad Shrestha, Vishwaprem Pathak, Arjun Kumar KC, Rajkumar Chaudhary, Tara Thapa, Dinesh Panthi, Girdharilal Nyaupane, Basanti Nyaupane, Durgaprasad Chaudhary, Chandrakes Gupta, and Meenakumari Shrestha participated. They raised questions to the government regarding the budget, program outlines, implementation status, development projects, agriculture, forest conservation, water supply, and infrastructure development, presenting various suggestions and opinions. In the meeting, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning, Dhanendra Karki, responded to the questions raised by the members of the Provincial Assembly concerning the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning. Similarly, the fourteenth meeting of the Provincial Assembly is scheduled to convene at 3 PM on Monday. The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes group discussions on the appropriation titles related to the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers' Office, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Provincial Public Service Commission, and the Office of the Attorney General.
