Landslide Blocks Key Highway, Disrupting Supply to Kathmandu

Kathmandu. After being eroded by the floodwaters coming into the Trishuli River via Bhote Koshi in Rasuwa, the main land route entering Kathmandu has been blocked for 8 days. The blockage of the main road entering Kathmandu due to a landslide at Krishnabhir in Dhading has affected the supply of cooking gas, petroleum products, and food grains.

Although the impact of the imbalance in food grain imports is not immediately visible, the pre-existing shortage of cooking gas has worsened. Due to the road blockage, some vehicles carrying cooking gas, petroleum products, and other essential goods that were coming towards the Kathmandu Valley have been stopped on the way.
