Lamjung. Tourist arrivals on the Annapurna Circuit, which had decreased with the monsoon, have started to increase in the last two weeks. While about 150 tourists entered through Dharapani last week, the number has increased to about 100 in the last week.
With the increase in tourist arrivals, tourism entrepreneurs around the trekking route have also become enthusiastic. Tourist arrivals had decreased after the monsoon began. While up to 500 to 600 tourists used to come daily during the peak season, during the monsoon, only one or two on some days and 10-15 on other days used to come, said Bhupendra Gurung, chief of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Tourist Check and Information Center in Dharapani.
