National Bhakka Day

What is Bhakka?
Bhakka, a traditional dish of the Koch Rajbanshi community, is one of the most popular dishes of Eastern Nepal, which is eaten more especially in winter. In recent times, the practice of eating bhakka has become widespread as everyone prefers having it. After the custom of eating bakka, which is limited only to the royal caste, became popular among all castes, it is celebrated on 29th of Poush to celebrate Bhakka Day with promotional programs.

How is Bhakka prepared?
Bhakka is prepared by steaming rice flour in water and eaten with chutney. National Bhaakka Day is celebrated every year on the 29th of Poush every year, with the belief that it is necessary to promote both its original features and health benefits.

Welcome to the national Bhakka day of 2079 BS, meaningful wishes.

Hamro Patro - Connecting Nepali Communities
Hamro Patro is one of the first Nepali app to include Nepali Patro, launched in 2010. We started with a Nepali Calendar mobile app to help Nepalese living abroad stay in touch with Nepalese festivals and important dates in Nepali calendar year. Later on, to cater to the people who couldn’t type in Nepali using fonts like Preeti, Ganesh and even Nepali Unicode, we built nepali mobile keyboard called Hamro Nepali keyboard.
