Akshaya Tritiya/International Book Day/ Copyright Day

What is Akshaya Tritiya?
Akshaya Tritiya falls in the Tritiya Tithi of Sukla Paksha of Baishakha month, Baisakha translates to a churning stick, every festival which falls in this month advocates for the purity and spiritual awakening. Akshaya means something that is beyond the process of eroding, which cannot be destructed, results of the activities performed in this day do not diminish, and good works commenced on this day will summon manifold divine results.

Importance of Akshaya Tritiya?
It's an auspicious day for the Hindu and Jain community. Utmost wishes that everyone may cultivate spiritual strength on this auspicious day, this day is also commemorated by the reading of scriptures, special pujas, the family deity worship (Ishta Deb), charities, offering homage to one's ancestors, associated with devotees, feeding Brahmins and poor by organizing Bhandara (Community fiesta) and watering and planting trees. All these activities result in the endurance of material opulence and spiritual awakening.

Akshaya Tritiya as a Sattu day.
Normally Akshaya Tritiya also marks the birthday of Lord Parshuram as Chiranjeevi Tritiya. Akshaya Tritiya has a peculiar tradition in Nepal, this is called a Sattu day too. Well, let me explain this ancient beverage today, this is a nutritious mix of ground pulses and cereals. Literally, anything roasted and ground into a fine powder is called Sattu, this typical Sattu is made of barley, chickpea, and other grains and mixed with sugar and water. This is an easy to carry, easy to digest and sturdy food, from the context of Krishna and Sudama to the ancient times and various stages of human civilization, it has been customary to take Sattu on a journey.

Importance of this Tithi
The Satya Yuga was formally started from today's Tithi, while the Dwapar Yuga ended immediately after the end of the Mahabharata Yuga and the Treta Yuga also began in this Tithi. This is such an auspicious day that Lord Mahadeva and mother Parwati also got married in this holy day, writer VedaVyas also started to write "Mahabharata" from this day, if you also have any plans to start with, manifest an eternal commitment and give a power punch starting to it.

International Book Day/ Copyright Day

Every year April 23rd is a celebration of Books and the copyright of creators.

What is world book and copyright day?
This is a symbolic day for world literature, this is a day when several prominent authors took their last breath, William Shakespeare, Miguel Cervantes, and Inca Garcilaso De La Ve Ga died on the day. Upon a conference of UNESCO on 1995 AD held in France, April 23rd was declared as a global day of Book and Copyright. This day advocates for creativity, diversity, and equal access to knowledge. The copy and photocopy culture is creating a huge tragedy on the author's side. Authors depict their society from their creation in their paper through their ink, from Valmiki to Veda Vyas, from Shakespeare to Wordsworth, from Gorky to Chekov everyone translated their ideas, society, and incidents in their papers, in their books which shall last for centuries and centuries to come.

Words and feelings are not for sale, these are public assets and a source of knowledge for generations to come. Let's increase our reading habits, Books are now transformed into e-books, audiobooks, and several digital forms but the importance of reading, assimilating, and contemplating contents into human minds is the same.

How is world book and copyright day observed?
Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the scope of books - a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures. On this occasion, UNESCO and the international organizations representing the three major sectors of the book industry - publishers, booksellers and libraries, select the World Book Capital for a year to maintain, through its own initiatives, the impetus of the Day’s celebrations.

What is Copyright?
It is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, giving authors or creators of original work exclusive rights usually for a limited time. Basically, it is the right to copy. It also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work and other, related rights. So, it is an intellectual property form.

Enjoy World Book and copyright Day 2023!

You are a Reader is the theme of this year, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the celebration.
