World Autism Awareness Day/SEE 2079-Compulsory Maths

Autism Awareness Day is an annual event observed on April 2nd to raise awareness and understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and to promote the inclusion and acceptance of individuals with autism. The day was first observed in 2008, following a unanimous vote by the United Nations General Assembly to designate April 2nd as World Autism Awareness Day.

What is Autism?
Autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior. It is estimated that 1 in 54 children in the United States are diagnosed with autism, and the prevalence is increasing globally.

The aim of Autism Awareness Day
The aim of Autism Awareness Day is to increase awareness of the challenges faced by individuals with autism and their families, and to promote acceptance and understanding of the condition. The day is also an opportunity to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and intervention, as well as to showcase the talents and strengths of individuals with autism.

Autism is typically diagnosed in early childhood, although it can sometimes be diagnosed later in life. Some of the common symptoms of autism include:
Difficulty with social interaction and communication
Repetitive behaviors or routines
Sensory sensitivities or differences in how senses are processed
Difficulty with change or transitioning between activities or environments
Intense interests in specific topics or objects

The cause of autism is not fully understood, but research suggests that both genetic and environmental factors may play a role. There is no cure for autism, but early intervention and treatment can help improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals with autism.

It's important to note that people with autism can have many strengths and abilities, and should be valued and included in all aspects of society. Autism acceptance and understanding is crucial in creating a more inclusive and supportive world for individuals with autism.

Theme 2023:
With a theme "Light it up blue", Autism Awareness Day 2023 is focused in promoting equality and inclusivity for people with autism. It is said that the entire month of April will be dedicated under the theme and blue color.
