Meaning: "One who worships both Hari (Vishnu) and Shankara (Shiva) on Baikuntha Chaturdashi attains the supreme abode and achieves liberation."

गुरु गोरखनाथ भन्नुहुन्छ– ‘‘देवलहरुको, देवालयहरुको यात्रा सुनो यात्रा हो” अर्थात् देवालयहरुको परिभ्रमण आदि आध्यात्मिक हिसाबले अर्थहीन छन् , शून्य बराबर छन् , निष्प्राण छन् – हुन त देवालयहरुको भूमिका, धर्म र संस्कृतिका हिसाबले अत्यन्तै महत्वपूर्ण छ तर यदि जात्रा छ किन्तु श्रद्धा छैन, भाव छैन र भक्ति छैन भने ‘‘देवल जात्रा” मात्र गरेर पनि के फाइदा हुन्छ र ? मूर्तिको पूजा चाहिं गर्ने मान्छेको पूजा नगर्ने ! देवालय धाउने तर घरलाई चाहिं देवालय बनाउन नसक्ने ! मन्दिरका देउताको पूजा गर्ने तर आफूमा देवत्व जगाउन नसक्ने ! सानो परिधि र परिसरमा ढुङ्गाले बनेका देउतालाई चाहिं फलफूल, नैवेद्य आदि चढाउने तर प्रत्येक मानवमा, पशुपंक्षीमा देवत्वको वास छ भनी नस्वीकार्ने ! एवं सेवा गर्न नसक्ने ! आदि यस्ता धार्मिक आडम्बरीपनलाई देखेर नै गुरु गोरखनाथले खडी भाषामा(प्राकृत भाषामा, जनभाषामा, देहाती भाषामा) ठाडो व्यङ्गय गर्नुभएको हो ।

The last day of Shukla Paksha is the full moon day. On this tithi, the moon is the brightest and magnificent. It is believed that fasting on this day brings immense lunar grace to health, prosperity, and peace. On the full moon day, Lord Shiva and Vishnu are especially worshiped. Special worship to Lord Vishnu is done in the form of Satya Narayan Puja. Satya Narayan Puja is usually performed whenever possible, although the fruits of this puja performed on the day of the full moon are very abundant.

शुक्ल पक्षको अन्तिम दिन पूर्णिमा हो । यस तिथीमा चन्द्रमा सर्वाधिक चम्किलो र तेजिलो रुपमा रहेको हुन्छ । यस दिन व्रत बस्नाले चन्द्रमाको असिम कृपा प्राप्त हुने र स्वास्थ, समृद्धि र शान्ति प्राप्त हुने विश्वास छ । पूर्णिमाको दिन विशेषगरि भगवान शिव र विष्णुको आराधना गरिन्छ । भगवान विष्णुलाई गरिने विशेष अर्चनालाई सत्य नारायण पुजाको स्वरुपमा गरिन्छ । सामान्यतया सत्य नारायण पुजा जहिले गरे पनि हुने कार्य हो यद्धपि पूर्णिमाको दिनमा गरिने यस पुजाको फल निकै धेरै पाइन्छ ।

This special day of Saptami is called Phoolpati. On this day, special worship of Goddess Durga's Kalratri form is performed. Black-skinned, black-eyed, with three eyes and four arms, holding a sword, a Masal-bearing ghurmudra, and an Abhay mudra in all four hands respectively. This Goddess killed a demon named "RaktaBeej" which was so powerful that he regained life from every drop of drops of blood falling into the soil.

The oldest default vernacular on Dashain, super popular among children of all generations. सबैभन्दा शुभ र सम्पूर्ण संसारलाई शुभ प्रदान गर्ने पवित्र र स्वच्छ दुर्गा माता हुनुहुन्छ। वहाँले आत्मसमर्पण गर्नेहरूको रक्षा गर्नुहुन्छ र वहाँलाई तीन लोककी माता पनि भनिन्छ । पर्वत राजाकी छोरी गौरी हाम्री माता दुर्गालाई बारम्बार नमन गर्छौं। हामी उनको पूजा गर्छौं।

These 16 days is the homage fortnight to ancestors, ancestors mean Pitri in Sanskrit so these days are called Pitri Parksha. Ancestors (Pitri) are taken as the center of God and the ancestral homage (Pitrikarma) is taken as the center of the eternal rites.

The eleventh day of the calendar is called Ekadashi. After the full moon and after the new moon, Ekadashi comes twice a month. The Ekadashi after the full moon is called Krishna Paksha Ekadashi and the Ekadashi after Aunsi is called Shukla Paksha Ekadashi.

The sky-touching chariot is constructed in Sikhar pattern (Mountain like pattern), the wooden edifice is about 15 to 20 meters in height and 4.5 meters in diameter. From the construction of the Chariot to the Bhoto Jatra, this longest Jatra has a process of 2 months and today is the main day.

Glory of Jitia: Once upon a time, on the banks of the river Narmada, there was a village called Kanchanavati, which was ruled by King Malayaketu. On the west bank of the river was a desert called Valuhata, on the same bank was a winged tree inhabited by a female eagle, under which lived a female Eagle and fox became friends and one day, like other women in the village, they decided to observe the waterless fast of Lord Jeetmahan Gonsai, but coincidentally on the same day the dead son of a rich merchant was buried underneath their shelter tree.

The 16-day Pitri Paksha has a big role to play in the beginning of the Dashain, 16 days of Pitri Paksha started from today. These 16 days are the homage fortnight to ancestors, ancestor means Pitri in Sanskrit so these days are called Pitri Parksha.

Vamana Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the incarnation day of Lord Vishnu as Vamana. Vamana Jayanti is celebrated on the Dwadashi date of Bhadrapad Shukla Paksha. According to the Bhagavata Purana, Vamana was the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu out of the Dashavatara and the first incarnation in the Treta Yuga.

त्रयोदशीलाई प्रदोष भनिन्छ । एकादशीमा विष्णुलाई स्मरण गरिन्छ भने प्रदोषमा शिवको स्मरण गरिन्छ । प्रदोष काल सूर्यास्त हुनुभन्दा ४५ मिनेट अगाडि सुरु हुन्छ र सूर्यास्तको ४५ मिनेटपछि समाप्त हुन्छ। प्रदोष कथा चन्द्रमाको क्षय हुने रोग अर्थात् चन्द्रमाको प्रभाव कम हुँदै जाने अवस्थामा भगवान् शिवले त्रयोदशीका दिन चन्द्रमाको रोग निवारण गरिदिनुभएको शास्त्रमा उल्लेख छ । यस कारणले हरेक महिनाको त्रयोदशीमा भगवान् शिवको स्मरण गर्दै प्रदोष व्रत लिइन्छ।

ॐ यज्ञोपवीतं परमं पवित्रं, प्रजापतेयर्त्सहजं पुरस्तात्। आयुष्यमग्र्यं प्रतिमुञ्च शुभ्रं, यज्ञोपवीतं बलमस्तु तेजः॥ मन्त्र गरिएको धागोको एउटा पवित्र अंशलाई शरीरमा लगाउनुलाई जनै लगाउनु भनिन्छ । जनैका विभिन्न नाम छन्, उपवीत, यज्ञ सूत्र, ब्रह्म सूत्र आदि नामले पनि जनैलाई नै जनाउँछ ।

The festival is observed on the 70th day of Eid-ul-Fitr or Ramadan and today under many names, 'Eid U Zoha' or 'Il Ud Adha'. According to the Islamic calendar 'Hijri Samvat', this festival is celebrated on the 10th day of the new month 'Jul Hijja'.

Nag Panchami, I call it a fulcrum of monsoon, right in the midpoint and this midpoint is culturally stated as Naagpanchami. The convoy of festivals has started and now in the hot sun, there is a hint of Dashain. Sanatana festivals are not only associated with religion but also with culture, our culture is further enriched by festivals like Nag Panchami, the day to worship reptiles, and dedicated to the serpent god, Naag.

श्रावण शुक्ल पक्षको पञ्चमीमा पर्ने यो दिन नागदेवता का लागि समर्पित गरिएको यस दिन गरिएका पूजा अर्चना वास्तवमै नाग देवता समक्ष पुग्ने जनविश्वास रहेको छ, वैदिक दर्शनमा १२ वटा नागहरूको उपस्थिति पाइन्छ ।

This Chaturdashi is also considered a metal day. The significance of this Chartudashi is very different and practical among the Chartudashis of the year. It is believed that the procession started in the valley from this day. Everyone is welcome in the series of processions of 2080 BS.

Welcome to the Ekadashi which falls on the Krishna Paksha of Shrawan, this holy Ekadashi is divinely named Kamika Ekadashi. One who fasts this day and honors Lord Vishnu gets rid of sins and attains lord Vishnu after death. Salvation is the eventual pursuit of Sanatana philosophy, the attaintment of Lord Hari or Vishnu is salvation and every Ekadashis are the divine doors to do so.

International Tiger day is manifested so that people around the world can raise awareness for tiger conservation. Protecting tigers and their natural habitats is the primary objective for this day of global solidarity in protecting tigers. The announcement was made by the International Tiger Forum in 2010 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The forum was the world's first tiger conference. The tiger conservation program is a joint effort of then-Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and World Bank President Robert Zoellick.

The last day of Shukla Paksha is the full moon day. On this tithi, the moon is the brightest and magnificent. It is believed that fasting on this day brings immense lunar grace to health, prosperity, and peace. On the full moon day, Lord Shiva and Vishnu are especially worshiped. Special worship to Lord Vishnu is done in the form of Satya Narayan Puja. Satya Narayan Puja is usually performed whenever possible, although the fruits of this puja performed on the day of the full moon are very abundant.

शुक्ल पक्षको अन्तिम दिन पूर्णिमा हो । यस तिथीमा चन्द्रमा सर्वाधिक चम्किलो र तेजिलो रुपमा रहेको हुन्छ । यस दिन व्रत बस्नाले चन्द्रमाको असिम कृपा प्राप्त हुने र स्वास्थ, समृद्धि र शान्ति प्राप्त हुने विश्वास छ । पूर्णिमाको दिन विशेषगरि भगवान शिव र विष्णुको आराधना गरिन्छ । भगवान विष्णुलाई गरिने विशेष अर्चनालाई सत्य नारायण पुजाको स्वरुपमा गरिन्छ । सामान्यतया सत्य नारायण पुजा जहिले गरे पनि हुने कार्य हो यद्धपि पूर्णिमाको दिनमा गरिने यस पुजाको फल निकै धेरै पाइन्छ ।

Triodashi is called Pradosh. Like Ekadashi, Pradosh is important every month, Vishnu is remembered in Ekadashi and Shiva is remembered in Pradosh. Pradosh begins 45 minutes before sunset and ends 45 minutes after sunset.

त्रयोदशीलाई प्रदोष भनिन्छ । एकादशीमा विष्णुलाई स्मरण गरिन्छ भने प्रदोषमा शिवको स्मरण गरिन्छ । प्रदोष काल सूर्यास्त हुनुभन्दा ४५ मिनेट अगाडि सुरु हुन्छ र सूर्यास्तको ४५ मिनेटपछि समाप्त हुन्छ। प्रदोष कथा चन्द्रमाको क्षय हुने रोग अर्थात् चन्द्रमाको प्रभाव कम हुँदै जाने अवस्थामा भगवान् शिवले त्रयोदशीका दिन चन्द्रमाको रोग निवारण गरिदिनुभएको शास्त्रमा उल्लेख छ । यस कारणले हरेक महिनाको त्रयोदशीमा भगवान् शिवको स्मरण गर्दै प्रदोष व्रत लिइन्छ।

According to the Vedic Sanatan Hindu calendar 'Panchang', the time it takes for a full moon to reappear in the new moon is divided into fifteen equal periods and each moving time part of the moon is called a date, lunar date.

वैदिक सनातन हिन्दू पात्रो ‘पञ्चाङ’ अनुरूप एउटा पूर्ण चन्द्रमा पुनः नयाँ चन्द्रमा भएर आकाशमा उपस्थित हुन लगाउने समयलाई पन्ध्र वटा समान समय भागमा विभाजन गरिएको छ । चन्द्रको प्रत्येक चलायमान समय भागलाई तिथि भनिन्छ । चन्द्रको अवस्थिति अनुसार तय गरिएको तिथिको एघारौँ दिनलाई एकादशी भनिन्छ ।

Even in the Shiva Purana, it is mentioned that Lord Shiva, who walked along the river Ganga on his forehead, became water himself. Shrawaan is the month of water and its feature, Shrawaan is the month of Shambhu and his followers, from Kailash Parwat till the north pole, from the dead sea, will the south pole, may Shrawan prevail the goodies and purity, may Lord Shiva reside in every hearts.

असार सकिएर श्रावण अथवा साउन महिना सुरु भएको छ । यस महिनामा अत्यन्त वर्षा हुने भएकोले यसलाई पावन भनिन्छ । यसै महिनाका विभिन्न तिथिमा हरितालिका तिज, रक्षा बन्धन, नाग पञ्चमी आदि थुप्रै महत्त्वपूर्ण चाडहरू पर्दछन् । यो भगवान् शिवको महिना हो, यसै कारणले यस महिनाको हरेक सोमबार अविवाहित महिलाहरूले व्रत बस्ने र राम्रो वर पाउने भनी शिवको आराधना गर्ने चलन पनि रही आएको छ ।

On the day of Asar 29th, every year Bhanu Jayanti is celebrated. Bhanubhakta Acharya was born in 1871 BS in a place called Chundi Ramgha in present-day Tanahu district to a wealthy family. He lived for 54 years.

Today, an idol of Lord Narayan is installed by fasting, and is revered. Offering vog means offering food, fruits, Naivedh, etc. It is the broad spectrum of living; Sanatan people consider the idol as a living god and treats it with grain, devotion, and other offerings. People donate to needy people under the grace of that idol, they lighten the incense sticks and also perform Aaratis.

यस दिन व्रत बसेर भगवान् नारायणको प्रतिमा स्थापित गरी श्रद्धापूर्वक त्यस प्रतिमालाई भोग लगाइन्छ । भोग लगाउनु अर्थात् खानेकुरा, फलफूल , नैवेद, आदि चढाउनु हो । धूप दिपले आरती उतार्ने र दान दिने गरिन्छ । यस एकादशीमा पिपलको पूजा गर्नाले सम्पूर्ण पाप नष्ट भई मृत्युपश्चात् स्वर्ग लोक प्राप्त हुन्छ भन्ने मान्यता छ ।

National Paddy Day / Dhan Diwas has been formally celebrated in Nepal since 2061 BS. But for centuries, it has been the custom to celebrate the 15th of Asar as a time of eating Dahi chura, planting paddy and celebration remained. This year, it is being celebrated all over Nepal as the 19th Paddy Day. This day has a special significance in keeping the morale of the farmers high and reflecting on the problems and issues of the agricultural profession.

हिन्दु संस्कारमा मानिसहरुले कुनै पनि कार्य गर्दा बिध्न बाधा उत्पन्न नहोस् भनेर काम थालनी गर्नु भन्दा पहिले सबैले भगवान श्री गणेशको आराधना र स्मरण गर्दछन्। भगवान श्री गणेशलाई मङ्गलकारक देवताका रूपमा पूजा गर्ने चलन छ। आज मङ्गलवारलाई भगवान् गणेशको दिनको रुपमा मान्ने चलन पनि छ। यिनै भगवान गणेशको जन्म तिथि चतुर्थी पर्ने भएकाले आजको दिनलाई मङ्गल चौथी भनेर विशेष पुजा आराधना गरेर मनाइने चलन रहेको छ। मङ्गलवार भगवान् गणेशको व्रत बस्ने व्रतालुहरुले आजकै शुभ दिन बाट व्रत प्रारम्भ गर्ने गरेको पाइन्छ।

नेपाल एउटा यस्तो देश हो जहाँ पुरुषको भन्दा महिलाको सख्याँ धेरै छ, राजनैतिक क्षेत्रमा राज्यले महिलाहरुका लागि ३३ प्रतिशत सिट छुट्याएर राखेको भएपनि महिला अधिकार र लैगिंक समानता समबन्धी बिभिन्न ऐन, नियम अनि कार्यान्वयनका पाटाहरु अत्यन्त फितलो छ र कगाजमा नै सिमित छ । आउनुहोस् कुराकानी गरौं।आफ्नो जीवनसाथी गुमाँउदा र साथ छोडिँदाको पीडा एकातर्फ अनि त्यसपछि जीवनमा गरिनुपर्ने दिर्घकालिन संघर्ष र सामाजिक अपहेलनाको सामना अर्कोतर्फ, विश्वभरिका एकल महिलाहरुले एउटा संघर्षशील अनि पीडादायि जीवनका पाटाहरु सहँदै आएका छन्, उनीहरुका लागि समानता र समता आजको विश्वले पैरवी गर्नुपर्ने तथ्य भएको छ ।

The last day of Shukla Paksha is the full moon day. On this tithi, the moon is the brightest and magnificent. It is believed that fasting on this day brings immense lunar grace to health, prosperity, and peace. On the full moon day, Lord Shiva and Vishnu are especially worshiped. Special worship to Lord Vishnu is done in the form of Satya Narayan Puja. Satya Narayan Puja is usually performed whenever possible, although the fruits of this puja performed on the day of the full moon are very abundant.

The eighth month of the Newa calendar is Tachala which coincides with the second month of Bikram Samvat. The full moon begins on the 15th day, starting with the new moon. This month is also divided into Shuklapaksha and Chandrapaksha which are called Tachala Thwa and Tachala Ga.

शुक्ल पक्षको अन्तिम दिन पूर्णिमा हो । यस तिथीमा चन्द्रमा सर्वाधिक चम्किलो र तेजिलो रुपमा रहेको हुन्छ । यस दिन व्रत बस्नाले चन्द्रमाको असिम कृपा प्राप्त हुने र स्वास्थ, समृद्धि र शान्ति प्राप्त हुने विश्वास छ । पूर्णिमाको दिन विशेषगरि भगवान शिव र विष्णुको आराधना गरिन्छ । भगवान विष्णुलाई गरिने विशेष अर्चनालाई सत्य नारायण पुजाको स्वरुपमा गरिन्छ । सामान्यतया सत्य नारायण पुजा जहिले गरे पनि हुने कार्य हो यद्धपि पूर्णिमाको दिनमा गरिने यस पुजाको फल निकै धेरै पाइन्छ ।

शरणार्थी सम्बन्धी घोषणापत्र १९५१ जारी भएको ५० वर्ष पुगेको सन्दर्भमा ४ डिसेम्बर २००० मा बसेको संयुक्त राष्ट्र सङ्घको साधारण सभाले २००१ जुन २० देखि अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय स्तरमा शरणार्थी दिवस मनाउने निर्णय गरेको थियो । राष्ट्रसङ्घीय उच्च आयोग (युएनएचसीआर) ले द्वन्द्व लगायतका कारणले धेरै मान्छे विस्थापित भएको र यस्ता विषयको निराकरण छिटो हुनुपर्नेमा जोड दिँदै आएको छ । संयुक्त राष्ट्र सङ्घले अरू मानिस झैँ शरणार्थी मानिसहरू रहेको र उनीहरूले आफ्नो बसोबासमा सामान्य रूपमा फर्किन चाहने अधिकारलाई प्रमुखताका साथ उठाउँदै आएको छ । त्यसका लागि विश्वभर मानवीयता, सहअस्तित्व, विविधता र शरणार्थीहरू प्रति खुल्ला हृदयहरूको आवश्यकता छ भन्ने विश्वास राखेको छ ।

Triodashi is called Pradosh. Like Ekadashi, Pradosh is important every month, Vishnu is remembered in Ekadashi and Shiva is remembered in Pradosh. Pradosh begins 45 minutes before sunset and ends 45 minutes after sunset.

त्रयोदशीलाई प्रदोष भनिन्छ । एकादशी जस्तै हरेक महिना प्रदोष पनि महत्त्वपूर्ण रहन्छ, एकादशीमा विष्णुलाई स्मरण गरिन्छ भने प्रदोषमा शिवको स्मरण गरिन्छ । प्रदोष काल सूर्यास्त हुनुभन्दा ४५ मिनेट अगाडि सुरु हुन्छ र सूर्यास्तको ४५ मिनेटपछि समाप्त हुन्छ। प्रदोष कथा चन्द्रमा को क्षय हुने रोग अर्थात् चन्द्रमाको प्रभाव कम हुँदै जाने अवस्थामा भगवान् शिवले त्रयोदशीका दिन चन्द्रमाको रोग निवारण गरिदिनुभएको शास्त्रमा उल्लेख छ । यस कारणले हरेक महिनाको त्रयोदशीमा भगवान् शिवको स्मरण गर्दै प्रदोष व्रत मनाइन्छ । त्रयोदशी तिथि भगवान् शिवको पूजा गर्नका लागि उत्तम हो। तर प्रदोषको समयमा शिवको आराधना गर्नु अझ फलदायी हुन्छ।

सुरुवात गर्न चाहयौं गणतन्त्रको अर्थबाट र यहाँ विश्व प्रसिद्ध अङ्ग्रेजी विश्वविद्यालय क्यामब्रिजको परिभाषा सापट लिंदैछौ जसका अनुसार गणतन्त्रात्मक शासन पद्धति भनेको यस्तो राज्य व्यवस्था हो जहाँ राजा वा रानी नभईकन जनताद्वारा चुनिएका प्रतिनिधि हरूले शासन गर्ने गर्दछन् ।

The Sanskrit word Buddha meaning awakening or the awakened. Buddha, a great personality, teacher, philosopher, governess, and guide, completely awakened from the desires of worldly attachments. Such a great teacher who in his discourse helped to awaken people from worldly lusts and tensions by recognizing religion and law in the world rather than saying that God created the world.

अधिकांश बौद्ध परम्पराले उनीलाई हाम्रो कल्पका एक सम्यक सम्बुद्धको रूपमा मान्दछन् । बुद्ध भन्नाले बोधिप्राप्त वा अन्तिम सत्यको साक्षात्कार गरेको महामानव बुझिन्छ । गौतम बुद्धको बास्तबिक नाम सिद्धार्थ गौतम थियो। बालक सिद्धार्थको जन्म भएको ७ दिनपछि सौतेनी आमा गौतमी ले पालनपोषण गरेको हुनाले सौतेनी आमाको नामबाट बालकको नाम गौतम पनि रहन गएको हो ।बुद्ध शब्दको अर्थ संस्कृत शब्द बुध अर्थात् जाग्नु भन्ने हुन्छ ।

राजा कश्यपका हिरण्याक्ष र हिरण्यकशिपु नाम गरेका दुई छोराहरू थिए । राजा कश्यपको मृत्यु पश्चात् ठूलो छोरा हिरण्याक्ष हिरण्याक्ष राजा बन्यो, तर उनी अत्यन्त क्रूर राजा थिए । उनको पापको र क्रूरताको श्रृंखलाले सीमा नाघेपछि वाराह भगवानले उनको सर्वनाश गरी मारीदिनुभयो । जसको बदला लिन हिरण्याक्षका भाइ हिरण्यकशिपुले आराध्यदेव भगवान महादेवलाई प्रशन्न पारी वरदान लिनकालागि कठोर तपस्य गर्यो । कठोर तपस्याबाट प्रभावित भएर दर्शन दिनुभयो र वरदान के माग्छाै भनेर आज्ञा भयो ।

Who is Swami Shashidhar? Today is the birth anniversary of Swami Shashidhar, who was born in Bamruk village of Arghakhanchi district. Swami Sashidhar's father's name was Dishai Sharma Marasini. Swami Sashidhar, who was considered a saint in the early nineteenth century, was not only a sadhu, he also wrote many books during his lifetime. Almost all the books written by him are in the Sanskrit language.

अर्घाखाँची जिल्लाको बामरुक गाउँमा जन्म भएको स्वामी शशिधरको आज जन्मजयन्ती परेको छ। स्वामी शशिधरको पिताको नाम दिशै शर्मा मरासिनी थियो । उन्नाइसौं शताब्दीका पहिला सन्तशिरोमणि मानिने स्वामी शशिधर एउटा साधु मात्र होइन,उनले आफ्नो जीवन कालमा धेरै ग्रन्थ पनि लेखेका थिए । उनले लेखेका प्राय सबै ग्रन्थ संस्कृत भाषामै छन् । आफ्नो बाल्यकालमा पाएकै शिक्षाले स्वामी शशिध ब्राह्मण विष्णु स्वामी सम्प्रदायमा दीक्षित भए, त्यसपछि पौडी गढवालमा क्यों कालेश्वर मठ स्थापना गर्दा केहि शिक्षा हाशिल गरेर उनि मुनि भए ।
