Disaster-hit local levels to receive 5 to 10 million rupees

Kathmandu, Oct 17: The 27th meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Committee has decided to provide relief funds to the local levels affected by the floods and landslides following the heavy rains from September 26 to 29. The meeting chaired by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak today at the office of the NDRRMA at Singhdurbar decided to release relief funds to 71 local levels of the country affected by the natural disaster. The affected local levels will be classified into three categories and provide Rs 5 million to Rs 10 million as relief money, said Basant Adhikari, joint secretary of NDRRMA.
A decision was also taken to recommend to the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management to provide funds to the affected municipalities as immediate relief through the District Disaster Management Committee.
