RPP Pledges Conditional Support for Government's Constitution Amendment Task Force

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has stated that it will conditionally support the government's task force formed for constitution amendment. During a meeting with Prime Minister Balen Shah at Singha Durbar on Thursday, RPP indicated that its support would be forthcoming if the government proceeds with the objective of amending or changing certain provisions of the federal system.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden expressed the party's commitment to cooperate if the government seeks to make necessary improvements or changes to the current system through constitutional amendment. During the discussion, Prime Minister Shah clarified that the task force's objective is not to amend the constitution itself or to set the agenda for amendment, but solely to prepare a discussion paper based on extensive consultations.
