Kathmandu. An old and unrelated protest video has been widely shared on social media with misleading claims linking it to the ongoing tensions in Sunsari, adding to the spread of misinformation surrounding the current situation.

A Facebook user named Arun Yadav posted the video on Tuesday with the caption, "Breaking News @highlight spreading across the country." The post has since been viewed more than 600,000 times, receiving over 31,000 reactions and 950 comments.
