World-Renowned Climber Nirmal Purja's Body Found After Avalanche in Northern Pakistan

Pakistan. Rescuers have found the body of world-renowned climber Nirmal Purja (Nims Dai), who lost his life along with his nine other team members in a powerful avalanche in northern Pakistan this week. The Alpine Club of Pakistan confirmed this on Sunday.

'The ground rescue team has reached Nims Dai at an altitude of approximately 5,700 meters on Broad Peak, a mountain he loved very much, and that mountain has taken him from us today,' the Alpine Club wrote on social media.
