Finance Minister Warns Against Frequent Changes to Nepal Rastra Bank Structure

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has stated that the structure of an established and sensitive institution like Nepal Rastra Bank should not be changed frequently.

Participating in the discussion on the amendment of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act in the meeting of the Finance Committee of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday, he emphasized the institution's efficiency, stability, and professionalism. He cautioned that frequent changes could have a negative impact. Dr. Wagle expressed disagreement with the proposal to increase the number of members of the Rastra Bank's board of directors from seven to nine.
