Government Faces Economic Challenges After Four Months

Kathmandu. Four months have passed since the formation of the government under the leadership of senior Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balendra (Balen) Shah. Although the single-majority government was expected to accelerate the country's economy, there are no signs of it yet.

According to former chief of Tribhuvan University's Economics Department, Dr. Resham Thapa, the government appears to be giving only medicine where surgery is needed to improve the economy. He stated that while a 'Sanjeevani Booti' (elixir of life) is needed for good governance and the entire system, the government is only focusing on superficial reforms.
