Government Delay in Nepal Leaves Construction Sector in Uncertainty Amidst Rising Fuel Prices

Kathmandu. Due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the prices of petroleum products and bitumen have seen an unusual increase in the international market. While neighboring India has already made policy decisions to provide relief to construction entrepreneurs, the construction sector in Nepal is in a state of uncertainty due to the government's delay.

The government of Uttar Pradesh, India, has decided to continue the special arrangement for price adjustment to address the increase in the price of bitumen used in road construction until July 30, 2026.
