Rastriya Swatantra Party General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya Demands Formation of Parliamentary Reform Committee

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya has demanded the formation of a parliamentary reform committee. Speaking in the zero hour of the House of Representatives on Monday, Acharya drew the attention of the Speaker to form a parliamentary reform committee. He expressed the view that parliamentary practice has become ritualistic and that all MPs should be surveyed once. "If my understanding is shared by many MPs, then we all need to work together to improve this parliamentary practice. I don't know if it's possible, but I think we should work once to make this parliament more creative, useful, and effective by forming a 'Parliamentary Reform Committee'. I have drawn the attention of the Honorable Speaker to this," Acharya said. He also raised questions about whether MPs are happy with parliamentary practice. Asking questions, he said, "We need to conduct a survey (polling) among all MPs once. Are all of us MPs happy with the current parliamentary practice? Is our capacity being utilized by the current parliamentary practice? If so, I have no problem."
