Roads Blocked Across Nepal Due to Rain, Landslides

Kathmandu. Due to continuous rain, floods, and landslides for the past few days, the main highways in various provinces of the country have been obstructed. According to the latest data from the Nepal Police, many road sections in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces are completely closed.

Under Bagmati Province, vehicular movement has been restricted during nighttime on the BP Highway and Kanti Lokpath, considering the potential risk of floods and landslides. Police have stated that vehicles are prohibited from operating on the Kavre section of the BP Highway from 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM and on the Makwanpur section of Kanti Lokpath from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Similarly, on the Arniko Highway, the road at Liping, Kodari, and Charkilo in Sindhupalchok is completely obstructed due to landslides. The Trishuli-Mailung-Syabrubesi road section in Rasuwa has also been closed for a long time due to floods.
