Rohit Paudel's Captaincy Era Ends as Sandeep Lamichhane Appointed New ODI Captain

Kathmandu. An important chapter of Nepali cricket over the last four years has officially ended from Monday. Rohit Paudel's captaincy journey has concluded as the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane as the new captain of the One Day International (ODI) team.

Rohit, who took over the leadership of the national team at the age of 20 in November 2022, replacing then-captain Sandeep Lamichhane, led Nepali cricket for nearly four years. During this period, he brought some historic achievements to Nepali cricket. However, consistently declining performance, especially continuous failures in the World Cup Cricket League 2, ultimately raised questions about his leadership.
