Nepali Congress Spokesperson Criticizes PM Balen Shah's 'Self-Restriction Diplomacy'

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress spokesperson Devraj Chalise has accused Prime Minister Balen Shah of violating the 'Self-Restriction Diplomacy' (self-controlled diplomacy) that he himself had started with fanfare four months ago. In a social media post on Facebook, spokesperson Chalise described Prime Minister Shah's actions as a model of immature politics.

According to Chalise, the Prime Minister's policy was neither a rule, nor diplomatic acumen, nor in the interest of the country. He called it merely a whim, curiosity, and experiment, comparing it to the word 'stunt' prevalent in Nepal. 'Stunts, which are popular in politics, are now expanding into the diplomatic field,' Chalise wrote.
