Gunla Festival Begins

Kathmandu. The month-long Gunla festival, celebrated by Buddhist followers of the Newar community, began on Thursday.

Celebrated from Gunlathwa Paru to Njalathwa Paru according to Nepal Sambat, this festival involves Buddhist followers circumambulating Buddhist stupas with various traditional musical instruments and performing special prayers.
