Landslide in China Affects Bhote Koshi River Flow

Kathmandu. A large landslide near Jhimmu Post in Nyalam towards China has affected the flow of the Bhote Koshi River. It is reported that the river's flow has been blocked by about half due to the landslide.

The District Police Office, Sindhupalchok, stated that a landslide with stones and soil occurred on Thursday morning in the area on the Chinese side, opposite Liping in Ward 2 of Bhote Koshi Rural Municipality. As the flow of the Bhote Koshi River, which flows from China to Nepal, has been affected by the landslide, high alert has been requested in the lower riparian areas of the river as a disaster may occur at any time.
