Government Courier Service Initiative Gains Momentum

Kathmandu. The government claims that the campaign to develop the postal service as a 'government courier service' by making it modern, technology-friendly, and citizen-friendly has gained momentum. In recent times, the use of postal services has expanded with the implementation of arrangements to deliver services such as passports, driving licenses, and educational certificates to citizens' doorsteps, along with the transportation of government documents and materials.

According to the Postal Service Department, significant progress has been made so far in line with the goal of developing the post office as a government material and document transportation service, which is one of the 10 major tasks under the Ministry of Information and Communications and the '100 Agendas for Administrative Reform' implemented by the first cabinet decision after the formation of the new government.
