Nepal Bar Association Demands Unconditional Release of Journalist Kishore Shrestha

Kathmandu. The Nepal Bar Association (NBA), Human Rights and Public Interest Committee has expressed serious concern over the incident of police arresting Janastha Weekly's Chief Editor and journalist Kishore Shrestha based on a news report.

Committee member secretary Advocate Kiran Neupane and co-coordinator Advocate Dr. Rajendra Ghimire issued a statement demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Shrestha. The statement recalled the universal recognition that Nepal also follows, that if there is any complaint or objection regarding a published news, a solution should be sought through the established legal process.
