Modi River Floods Wash Away Two Bridges and Temple in Kaski

Kathmandu. Continuous rain has increased the flow of the Modi River, washing away two bridges and a temple in Ward No. 6 of Annapurna Rural Municipality in Kaski. The Annapurna Mata Temple, located between Ward No. 5 and 6 of Annapurna Rural Municipality, has been washed away by the Modi River. Two bridges in the area have also been washed away, DSP Birendra Kumar Paswan of the District Police Office, Kaski, told Ratopati. The metal bridge connecting Parbat and Kaski, and the bridge used to visit the temple, have been washed away by the river.

Three people are stranded in the temple premises. A team of armed police with divers has reached the scene for their rescue. DSP Shailendra Thapa, spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, informed that a team from the Armed Police Force's No. 24 Kalika Battalion has been deployed to the scene for the rescue of two devotees and one priest trapped in the temple.
