The trajectory of the country's economic growth is getting into a low-level equilibrium trap despite noticeable changes in the political sphere in the recent decades. Nepal has experienced significant political transformations that spanned from the Panchayat era to multiparty democracy, Maoist insurgency, and the existing Federal Republican Constitution-2015. Yet it has not achieved the sustained economic prosperity and well-being envisioned in its constitutional preamble. The statistics reveal a heavy concentration of wealth with a handful of rich groups leading to a situation of a greater degree of inequality. This has literally challenged the norms of balanced growth with equity. For many years, this issue has bugged in the morass of confusion even among academia. The book entitled Transforming Nepal: Balancing Growth with Equity, written by Pushkar Bajracharya, Mohan Das Manandhar and Rojan Bajracharya, has meticulously unearthed the reasons for disequilibrium between growth and equity.
