Deuba-Shekhar Group Rejects Gagan Thapa Led Committee, Cites Legal Review

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress former president Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala group have refused to recognize the committee led by Gagan Thapa, selected through a special general convention. The 'National Gathering' of the Deuba-Shekhar faction, which began in Kathmandu from Friday, has completely ignored the committee from the special general convention. During the program's commencement, addresses, and oath-taking ceremonies, officials and members were addressed according to their positions and statuses from the 14th general convention, not from the special general convention.

During the gathering, which was conducted by Min Bishwakarma, the coordinator of the publicity committee, the new responsibilities given by the special general convention were not mentioned at all when addressing the participating leaders. Instead, they were seated and addressed as officials and members of the 14th general convention. This indicates that the Deuba and Shekhar group is not ready to give legitimacy to the current committee led by Gagan Thapa.
