Nepal Bar Association Raises Concerns Over Constitutional Bench Case Transfer

Kathmandu. The Nepal Bar Association has expressed serious concern over the transfer of writ petitions filed against the government-formed property investigation commission to the constitutional bench based on a comment order.

A statement issued on Friday clarified that it has been a tradition and practice to decide which bench to send a case to or not through debate and discussion on the day of its hearing before the open bench. The Bar believes that transferring a case of national importance to the constitutional bench through a comment order, contrary to this tradition, is surprising.
