Supreme Court Constitutional Bench to Decide on Asset Investigation Commission Petitions

Kathmandu. The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court will now decide on the writ petitions filed against the 'Asset Investigation Commission' formed by the government to investigate the assets of persons holding public office.

Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma has directed that these petitions be presented to the Constitutional Bench, deeming that they involve serious constitutional interpretation questions. Although a joint bench had previously ordered these cases to be sent to a three-member full bench, with the Chief Justice's administrative decision, it is now certain that the hearing of this dispute will take place in the five-member Constitutional Bench.
