Chief Secretary States Government's Policy is to Make Nepal Livable

Kathmandu. Chief Secretary Govinda Bahadur Karki has clarified that the government's main policy is to make Nepal a livable country for all. He said this while speaking at the Budget Watch program organized by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries. The 100-point governance reform agenda put forward by the current government is the main roadmap for good governance and economic prosperity. He stated that this agenda, made public on the day the government was formed, will lay the foundation for the overall development of the country. According to Chief Secretary Karki, although it is called a 100-point agenda, it covers a wide range of topics. The main objectives of this agenda are to control corruption, improve public service delivery, solve problems of the private sector, and promote 'digital governance' through the use of information technology. He informed that this year's government policy, program, and budget are also centered around the same 100-point agenda. He mentioned that compared to the past, the current government's policy has come in a specific way, and it gives special priority to the demands and needs of the private sector. He also said that the government has tried to cover all sectors through this agenda, and many works targeted at the private sector have already moved forward. Furthermore, Chief Secretary Karki stated that the government has not been able to perform according to its targets due to the Supreme Court. He admitted that despite reforms in the law, some matters have not yet become as smooth as expected. He said that the government is facing difficulties in performing according to its targets because some cases are sub-judice in the Supreme Court.
