Motorable Bridge Construction Delayed in Khotang, Locals Face Risky Journeys

Khotang. Locals are undertaking risky journeys due to the non-construction of a motorable concrete bridge over the Liding River, which lies on the border of Aiselukharka Rural Municipality-3 Aiselukharka Bazaar and Selukharka-1 Rakha-bangdel, within the stipulated two years. The bridge, which was supposed to be completed in two years, has not been built in six years, causing hardship to locals and students.

The motorable bridge over the Liding River, where transportation operates only during winter via a dirt road, was contracted on Falgun 28, 2077 BS, with a completion deadline of Bhadra 24, 2079 BS. The construction of the concrete bridge has not been completed due to the delay by the construction company Pushpanjali-Jimba JV.
