Nepali Congress Leader Shashank Koirala Clarifies Stance Against Party Split

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has clarified that he is not in favor of splitting the party. Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the national gathering of the establishment- इतर faction on Saturday, he stated that the gathering was not for the purpose of forming a new party.

Leader Koirala mentioned that such gatherings are necessary from time to time to refine the party and its ideology, and he reiterated that he is not in favor of forming a new party. He stated that even if an unfavorable decision comes from the court, a policy for the future will be decided through discussions among all. He also claimed that the upcoming general convention of the party would be held under the leadership of Sher Bahadur Deuba. He added that if the situation is not as expected, necessary decisions will be made after further discussions.
