Landslide in Jajarkot Claims Three Lives, Two Still Missing

Jajarkot. The death toll from a mudslide in the Risang area of Bheri Municipality-2, Jajarkot district, due to continuous rain has reached three. Search is ongoing for two others who went missing in the landslide.

Kedar Karki, 52, of Saldhara, Bheri Municipality-2, who was referred to Kohalpur Medical College in Nepalgunj for treatment after being treated at the District Hospital Jajarkot, died during treatment. Similarly, the bodies of Uma Singh Khatri, 54, and Rati Khatri, 83, both residents of the same place, who were among the four missing, were found during the search. Ram Bahadur Shahi, 62, Siddhi Bahadur Kami, 45, Kamala Karki, 58, Anita Karki, 23, Eunice Shahi, 10, Suntali Chadara, 45, and Bhadrakala Karki, 61, all residents of the same place, were injured. Among the injured, Ram Bahadur Shahi and Bhadrakala Karki are in critical condition and have been sent to Nepalgunj and Surkhet for further treatment.
