Originality Of Heritage

As one of the world's oldest nations, Nepal boasts of ancient monuments, heritage, culture and traditions. Temples, palaces and stupas dating back millennia are steeped in myths, mysteries and religious sagas. They reflect our ancestors’ perennial desire to express their innermost feelings and communicate with some unseen forces they believed through generations. The beautiful wooden structures display magnificent artwork, craftsmanship and architectural qualities. They undoubtedly stand as the sources of identity and prestige, carrying the soul of the nation and people for ages. They inspire both old and young generations of people to love and honour the history and culture that provide distinct recognition to them. Despite our immense faith in and respect for the heritage structures and sites, preserving them have been an uphill task. They are always vulnerable to natural disasters such as fires, quakes, storms and rain-induced subsidence.
