Nepali Congress Faction Dynamics Shift with 15th General Convention Preparations

Kathmandu. The latest power equation within the Nepali Congress's dissenting faction (former President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Dr. Shekhar Koirala) and calculations for the 15th General Convention have taken a new turn. The decision made at the national gathering held in Kathmandu on Sunday has created new stirrings within the group.

With the gathering entrusting former General Secretary Dr. Shashank Koirala with the responsibility of coordinating regular party activities until the 15th General Convention, former Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka, who held the responsibility of Acting President until the special convention gained official recognition after the Janji movement, has been somewhat sidelined.
