Dr. Shrestha has completed MBBS from the Institute of Medicine (IOM), an MD in Ophthalmology from Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, and a Vitreo Retina Fellowship from Switzerland. He is a master trainer of cataract surgeons (Fred Hollows Foundation, Australia) and Master Retina Trainer (Tokushima University, Japan). He is the head of the Eye Department at BP Eye Foundation, Hospital for Children, Eye, ENT & Rehabilitation Services (CHEERS) Bhaktapur, Nepal. He is an awardee from the International Council of Ophthalmology, Asia Pacific Academic of Ophthalmology, International Diabetes Federation, and Asia Pacific Vitreo Retina Society. Research Grantee from Nepal Health Research Council and Eritrean Research Fund.
