Mokshada Ekadashi and Geeta Jayanti

Mokshada Ekadashi is also commemorated as Geeta Jayanti. This day is the starting tithi when Lord Shri Krishna started to narrate Srimad Vagwat Geeta to Arjuna. So today is the birthday of Bhagwat Geeta, the only book which advocates for the righteousness in human life and its sheer practicalities.

According to the Bhagavad Gita Mahapurana, Mokshada Ekadashi is called the Ekadashi of Mansir Shukla Paksha.

Ekadashi is especially the worship of Lord Bishnu. Today, incense, lamps, and offerings are offered by setting up a statue of Bishnu. Similarly, it is believed that giving Dakshina to Brahmins will bring religious and spiritual returns. Since salvation is obtained from all sins, taking the brat of this Ekadashi is considered appropriate from a religious point of view. This Ekadashi is called 'Mokshada' because it brings salvation from sin. There is a religious belief that after the brat of Mokshada Ekadashi, the ancestors will be freed from all sins and will live in heaven.

Today, along with the book of Gita lessons, Lord Krishna and Vedavyasa are also worshiped with devotion. To observe the brat of Mokshada Ekadashi, one has to make barley bread and mung dal and eat it only once on the previous day, i.e. on the tenth day.

In the same way, after completing the brat of Ekadashi, one should take a bath in the morning on the next day of Dwadashi and break the fast with vegetarian foods. On the day of Ekadashi, one should worship the Lord and stay awake at night singing Gita verses. The Gita frees human life from ignorance and darkness and leads to prosperity and good deeds. It is believed that doing so will lead to the supremacy of ideas in human life.

Geeta Jayanti

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते संगोअस्त्वकर्मणि
श्रीमदभागवतगिता अध्याय २ श्लोक ४७०

Do deeds but do not expect output. You get as much result as you should get. Never give up, always move forward.

Grace and knowledge of the Gita, a unique text of Sanatan Darshan and considered to be the only life-giving guide of human life, which was adopted by the world community. The Gita Jayanti is being celebrated today to further highlight the importance of the Gita, a book that has been admired and praised by the great philosophers of the last century, from the great scientists. Mokshada Ekadashi is also commemorated as Geeta Jayanti.

About 5000 thousand years ago, at the beginning of Kali Yuga, Lord Krishna had given Gita a new direction to humanity. That is why the day of Mokshada Ekadashi is also celebrated as Gita Jayanti. The battle of Mahabharata is the background of the Gita which shows the philosophy of equality, injustice, oppression-free society and is one of the oldest texts in the world.

Today, Lord Krishna recited the Gita and told the essence of life to Arjuna, who was bound by worldly love in Kurukshetra.

Many scholars believe that the sermon that was preached about 5000 thousand years ago, that is, at the beginning of Kali Yuga, should still be pondered by the best sentient beings in the world.

Even those who have faith here must read the Gita once in a lifetime. It is said that the solution to all the problems of life is found in the Gita.

The Gita is far superior to any religion, the Gita is open to the followers of any religion or philosophy, the uninterrupted and continual knowledge of the Gita is the property and source of all of us. Good luck.
